Female Character Flowchart
This has been circling the feminist blogosphere; I know I read commentary on it on Jezebel and Sociological Images, but it's originally from Overthinking It ("where we subject the popular culture to a level of scrutiny it probably doesn't deserve"). I have so many problems with this chart that I don't think they could all fit in the amount of characters I'm allowed in this little comment box. However, one of them I will mention is that it really bothers me that a girl must not represent an idea to be a strong female character. Isn't the strongest character one that represents an idea bigger than oneself? Or is that the point?
